Meet our Founder

Greetings!

 

I am Joe Chenoweth, the founder and CEO of Smart Roofs Energy. We handle the entire commercial solar process for our customers from engineering, procurement, and construction. We offer financing options and post-installation system monitoring to track power generation and efficiency. 

 

My solar career began from my patented invention of a solar generator that provides consistent and reliable renewable power for clean water, communication, and lighting for the world’s most needy people in developing countries. 

 

12 years ago, I started providing commercial solar to businesses mostly in the tri-state area of Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, helping them save money and offset their carbon footprint. Through customer referrals and organic growth, today we are now building out solar projects for business owners across the United States.  We also offer battery energy storage systems and EV charging stations.

 

Smart Roofs Energy currently employs twenty-five knowledgeable renewable energy professionals. Our corporate headquarters in Monroe, Connecticut is 100% powered by PV rooftop solar energy.
